PERFECT Family Getaway!
Wow! This villa was everything we hoped for and more! Veronique was wonderful to work with leading up to our vacation as well as while we were there. The villa was perfect for the 7 of us and the view was absolutely incredible! The location was perfect and we loved going into Grand Case and Orient Bay for dinners. We loved using the kayaks and went over to Pinel Island 3 times during our stay (the beach was one of our favorite)! Veronique also helped put us in touch with Chef Jerome who cooked one of the best meals I have ever had on our last night in the villa. We cannot wait to be back one day soon and would highly recommend this villa for anyone considering visting SXM.

Everything we hoped it would be… and more!
Four couples shared Villa Pinel and we had a fabulous time. Veronique delivered on every representation made in the listing. Nothing was overstated. The Villa itself is even more beautiful than the photos portray. The bedrooms and living space were roomy and comfortable, and the amenities(kayaks, grill, maid service, kitchen provisions , towels, etc.) were plentiful. On the rare occasion that something we desired wasn’t readily available, Veronique was immediately accessible to assist. The Villa’s location is outstanding. It is a little off the beaten path, so it would be relaxing for those who want to enjoy a little solitude. Our group was looking for activity and good food and drink, however, and remarkable boating, paddling, hiking, climbing, snorkeling and other activities were at our doorstep in the Reserve area and Pinel Island. Extraordinary restaurants were available at nearby Grand Case and Orient, but our favorite meal of the trip was an impromptu lunch prepared and enjoyed on the Villa porch when we acquired a beautiful Mahi from Veronique’s son, a fisherman who docks his boat at the water’s edge. I had some reservations about mosquitos based upon reviews I had read before our trip, but they were not an issue for us at all during our trip. We rarely return to the same vacation location twice, but I am sure that we will make an exception for Villa Pinel. It was an outstanding experience.

Breathtakingly beautiful spot.
This is an extraordinary place to stay. We had a 10 day stay in Villa Pinel, and from the outset were awestruck by the view and the accommodations. Pros: -Veronique is very prompt to respond and was always helpful with her suggestions and recommendations. -The Villa itself is well designed, with good-sized bedrooms, comfortable beds and a terrific patio. Guests have use of 3 kayaks, which were used daily to paddle in the bay and out to Pinel for snorkeling. -The view looks out onto Petite Clef and Pinel Island, dotted with moored sailboats. You could sit for hours on the patio and never tire of the scenery, or take it in from the beautiful infinity pool. -The Villa is located in Cul de Sac, near markets (such as the well-stocked Cocci market), and Grand Case, which offers up great dining options. Cons: -Having to leave. Staying here, I’d recommend renting a car to get around and it’d otherwise be a good walk to the markets. While some reviews refer to mosquitoes, we found this to be a non-issue, in part because there was a steady gentle ocean breeze. Very highly recommended!

Family Vacation in Paradise!
Wow! What a trip!! It was so hard to leave! There were 9 of us in our group, 6 adults and 3 kids; ages 4, 7 and 8. We all had a wonderful time together cooking, swimming, kayaking and mostly just relaxing by the pool. Veronique was fabulous- helping us arrange rental cars before arrival, suggesting fun places to go, making dinner reservations for us and more. She couldn’t have been more helpful and kind to us. This is a huge advantage when you are traveling to a new location. Definitely use the kayaks to paddle over to Pinel Island (or hop on the Ferry which is 5 mins away). At Pinel Island, the beach is perfect for kids to play (calm and clear) and they have the best pina colada’s we have ever had! Depending on the night and the weather, you might get lucky and the fishing boat might pull up to the dock right below the Villa where you can buy fresh tuna, mahi mahi or local lobster- this was a big treat for our group! We grilled the mahi that night and everyone loved it! We spent one afternoon at Bikini Beach in Orient Bay (10 mins away) at a table with our feet in the sand and a drink in hand, while the kids played 15 feet in front of us in the sand and waves. Here you can also rent jet skis, parasail, or use the big water trampoline if the weather is good. There’s also a fun bar inside and next to the bar, a full playground for kids- great spot! If you are looking for a nice lunch or dinner, drive 15 mins to Grand Case’s Ocean 82. Fabulous options for all- lobster, vegetarian options and good options for the kids! And the view is amazing! There is also fun shopping in Grand Case. A few tips: We would definitely suggest renting a car so you can explore the island. There is a lot to do within a 20 minute radius of the Villa. Also, if you have a young child who is not yet proficient in swimming, make sure to bring a swim vest to take the worry out of having a pool. And don’t forget your bug spray for the mosquitos. They weren’t as bad as we anticipated, but we did get some bites. Bring a small speaker so you can listen to music while making dinner, drinking and dancing the night away as you look out over the beautiful horizon of sailboats and far away little islands. We are already dreaming of returning to Villa Pinel for our next big Celebration! Thank you Veronique for a week of fabulous memories that we will cherish forever!

Beautiful Villa Pinel St. Martin
Stayed in January 2016 — It’s the perfect house, in the perfect location. minutes from Orient Beach, Grand Case, Anse Marcel and a fun kayak journey to Pinel Is.( kayaks supplied by the owners). The house was well equipped in general. The owner Veronique, was a pleasure to deal with, and genuinely cared about your vacation running smoothly. We will be back!”
Robert H. Jan 2016
We stayed at Villa Pinel from November 10-14, 2016. Veronique (Owner) was very prompt in returning messages and emails to answer all our concerns and questions. Veronique arranged to have the villa open and someone there to greet us. We found the villa to have everything you could need. (Beach towels, bath towels, shampoo, soap, kitchen utensils, appliances, wifi, sound system etc.) The villa itself is stunning, beautiful views from all the areas of the villa you would expect. The deck wrapped around the infinity pool with beautiful views over the bay. The sleeping arrangements were extremely comfortable the only issue we had is there is only one ‘master bedroom’. The other two bedrooms upstairs are all very beautiful and a good size but they do not have a toilet. They are both equipped with a sink and shower but you have to go out in the hallway to use the toilet. The villa would accommodate 8 adults easily, with lots of room for outdoor dining, lounging around the pool or being in the living room. Car Rental – Although not completely necessary we did rent a SUV for the 4 days. Both Grand Case and Orient Beach are a 10 minute drive away for some of the best dining experiences on the island. We did use the kayaks to paddle over to Pinel Island for the afternoon. The trip over takes about 15 minutes and we brought $50 USD and a camera. The food and drink are a little expensive but well worth it. Overall the villa is 9.5 out of 10. Would we return? Absolutely.

This home is beautiful and the view spectacular. My husband and I and our 4 girls, ages 4, 7, 13, and 15 stayed for 10 days and all had the best time. It is in Cul du Sac, a very tranquil part of St. Martin, very close to Orient Beach and Grand Case. The owner provides 3 kayaks that we enjoyed daily, heading over to Pinel Island. The beach there is spectacular with 2 delicious restaurants and excellent lounge chair service. Villa Pinel is beautifully decorated with super comfortable beds. The owner, Veronique, offered us wonderful recommendations during our stay and was at our beck and call. There is a neighborhood grocery store having everything we needed and next door to that, Ponch Villa, a quaint and delicious Mexican restaurant. There isn’t a working TV in the villa which allowed us to disconnect and just enjoy each other. In the evenings, we played games and listened to music. The villa has the kitchen and living room open to the outdoors , with only air conditioning in the 3 bedrooms and separate in-laws suite. So, if you are looking for air conditioning and TV, this is not the villa for you. My only negative about the trip were the mosquitos. We had to keep ourselves coated in OFF the whole time and still got bitten, especially the 4 and 7 year old. With that said, we plan to return to Villa Pinel next year. I would highly recommend this villa.
Catherine Crichton Jun 2016
Fantastic place to disconnect
These words to say that is impossible to describe the place. The house is very well furnished and equipped and if something is missing, you can be sure that Veronique will handle it and find the solution. But the most impactful of that place is clearly the spot itself. The sea view, the quietness, the private beach, the fish you buy to the fisherman when he comes back.. so many positive things to say about that place that I have only this advice for you : book it!

Amazing Villa and Owner
We’ve been to St Martin more than 10 times and this villa is the best place we have stayed so far. The location, view, property and cleanness of the villa are exceptional. Veronique the owner was extremely helpful. We were a big group celebrating my husband’s birthday and she even recommended a babysitter that turned out to be great. We made a private dinner at the house to celebrate the birthday, a party of 18, and she recommended a chef and did not mind having such a big group at the house for the dinner. Also, she left a list of recommendations for places to go during the day and restaurants to have dinner and all were fabulous. Love using the kayaks that come with the house to go to Pinel Island which is truly a paradise. Can’t wait to return!! Thanks Veronique for making everything so special!!!

Best view on St. Martin
This home was the best rental we could have ever found. It is very well appointed with all the cookware and glasses one would expect in their own home. The views of the Cul de Sac Bay Area are phenomenal especially from the infinity pool with a cold one in hand. You have use of kayaks to make your daily trip to Pinel for sand, sun and food. We all loved it. As fabulous as the villa is the thing that pushes it over the top is your hostess, Veronique. She and her husband live next door and are willing to assist with dining reservations, babysitters (ask for Bamboo) and whatever you can dream up. Last comment, we had our whole family including a 2 yr old grandson on the trip, one major concern in booking any villa was his safety around a pool. It was a great relief to find out that the pool is well designed with limited access. It made us all much more at ease with him wandering around with no danger of him falling into the water. We cannot say enough about wonderful Villa Pinel.

Fantastic stay- worth my first review!
This stay was beyond expectations!!! We stayed 6/29-7/5/14. This was our first time using the web, so we were a little nervous. However, Veronique was incredibly accommodating! The directions to the villa were exact, and the villa itself was just as the pictures promised. In addition, Veronique provided surprises to welcome us to the villa on our arrival. The place has an open-air environment; so much so, we only closed the wall of windows and the front door while we were sleeping or gone. Be aware that there are only showers and sinks in all bedrooms except the master. The guest bedrooms use toilets in the hallways, but that was not a problem for our group. The house has plenty of areas for sun and shade with a lovely constant breeze. The infinity pool is a great size and temp. The villa has snorkel gear as well as kayaks. We used the kayaks frequently to travel (15 minutes max) to Pinel Island for fresh grilled lobster (we literally picked the lobsters from a cage in the sea) and to tour the island. The food was some of the best I have ever eaten. Most of the places took such pride in the presentation of the meals. We ate most dinners in Grand Case (L’Auberge Gourmand and Le Cottage were our favorites!!! We did have a few minor issues. There was a plethora of mosquitos, but the St. Martin people are very used to it. We took plenty of bug spray, and Veronique provided a moderate amount of spray and precautions for us too. Another issue was lack of TV. We were there during the World Cup and were hoping to watch it from the villa, but the TV did not work the entire week we were there. Lastly, there is Wifi, but it is rather weak in the villa. One must stand in a certain corner of the villa to get any access. Overall, this was an amazing trip. I don’t typically want to go back to the same places, but I would go back to Villa Pinel in a heartbeat!

Chic and chill – Zen – can’t wait to return
From the layout to the cool Turkish towels to the stereo, Villa Pinel is excellent. Veronique is the cherry on top – excellent hosts and really makes you feel welcomed. We had 4 couples in for a little over a week and chartered a sailboat for several days of our time there. So Villa Pinel was our base camp. So close to Pinel Island, Orient Bay and Grande Case, I’d be surprised if it doesn’t have what most people hope for on the French side of St Martin. Honestly, we can’t say enough good things. Looking forward to returning asap.

Amazing home, breath-taking view
Villa Pinel is an amazing vacation get away! Veronique was so helpful from the time we first contacted her – she responded to all of our questions prior to the trip, coordinated our arrival, gave easy to follow directions to the Villa, was available for questions throughout our stay, and had some wonderful treats for us when we arrived. The villa was perfect: the location was beautiful, the setting relaxing, and we had everything we needed. There were snorkeling masks, fins, life jackets, pool/beach toys, beach chairs, towels, and best of all, the kayaks. We kayaked to Pinel Island on two different occasions and it was fantastic! The water is so calm in the cove that it made for an easy ride – we even had kids (18 months – 11 yrs) with us. We also enjoyed our “stay-home” days. The water was shallow and calm so that it was safe for the older kids to snorkel, paddle-board, and kayak nearby. I highly recommend Villa Pinel for so many reasons!

To All ….our stay at Villa Pinel
We found the Villa Pinel website after trawling through houses for lease in St Martin. Little did we know at the time ….we had hit the jackpot!! The website is no exaggeration on the actual experience Villa Pinel is fitted out with all you require for relaxing free holiday, beer fridge, wine fridge, Nespresso coffee machine plus all you need if you want to cook!! Why St Martin…we knew it was direct non stop flight from Paris …so it suited our family get together from , Australia, Singapore and London. And we knew that the French side of St Martin was the better half to stay? From day one of our inquiry Veronique was charming and full of helpfully information Villa Pinel with 4 bedrooms 4 bathrooms was perfect for our family reunion, of 4 adults, and 3 children. The casual relaxed setting couldn’t have been better, with us spending most of each day just in and out of the pool with our grandchildren. Shopping was close by …so essentials such as food, beer and wine were easy to replace! Veronique welcomed us to Villa Pinel and had supplied as requested our first night’s dinner, as Veronique had informed us the shops were closed for Easter. Veronique supplied us with recommendations for our seagoing boat full day trip around St Martin and for our special in house dine-in night …all cooked and served by a Oliver the French Chef. On day 2 Veronique gave us a huge whole Dordoro, (Mahi Mahi) ,caught by her husband, for us to BBQ…it was fantastic and such a special treat. The whole family enjoyed the fresh fish! We can thoroughly recommend to anyone Villa Pinel and all the help Veronique gave us in making our holiday hassle free. Graeme & Barbara Lane Sydney Australia

Oh How I Miss Villa Pinel
My husband and I and our friends (2 other couples from LA and NY respectively) just returned from spending a week at Villa Pinel. It was absolutely lovely and we had an amazing and incredibly relaxing vacation. The villa is beautiful and well appointed. The location is perfect and the ability to kayak (and even swim) to Pinel Island was amazing. It is true that the master bedroom boasts an en-suite toilet while the other two rooms do not but each room has it’s perk. The common space is ideal and the indoor/outdoor feel of the entire villa makes everything feel like a tropical paradise. The villa is accurately reflected in the photos advertised – if not even better in person. The property is incredibly clean and well maintained and has everything you need and more. Veronique is a top-notch hostess and prepared little surprises for us which made us feel incredibly welcome and at home. If I have one constructive though, it would be to have a slight upgrade to the linens and towels. They are nice but could be better in order to live up to the high quality of the rest of the villa’s amenities. I hope that we will return again soon.

Merveilleuses vacances

Extraordinary Getaway
Villa Pinel is one of a kind. Starting with incredible views and an incredible owner, I would recommend this property to a couple who wants a one of a kind romantic weekend, or to a family who wants an intimate getaway. Veronique goes out of her way from before you arrive until the time that you leave to make sure that everything is just perfect and that you have anything you need. The best thing is the privacy. You have your own private home in a wonderfully private community. From the house you can take a kayak to an incredibly enchanting place, Pinel Island, for the best grilled lobster you’ll ever have, (and I’m from New York). If you don’t feel like kayaking, Veronique will arrange for a water taxi to take you over to this little bit of paradise. The calm of Villa Pinel allows you to relax- and if you want the hustle and bustle of Orient Bay, it’s only a few minutes away by car; as is the Hope Estate for groceries, and the dining capital of St Martin, Grand Case, is only 8 minutes away. This home away from home is a one of a kind find. If you’re looking for a villa in the Orient Bay/Cul de Sac areas, this is the one you’ll want you’ll regret not renting!

Hidden Gem
Villa Pinel was a great find, thank you so much Veronique for everything.Location was great, close to Orient beach and Pinel Island. The kayaks were a great addition, wish we would have taken them out earlier on our trip ,much faster than ferry. It is an easy 10 min.paddle to paradise, great little bars with good food and shallow calm beach all you need is a swim suit, sunglasses and some money. The villa was just beautiful and well equipped-the view from the deck is priceless!!! Our group had great times -we cooked about 2/3 our meals in the villa’s well stocked kitchen. Our days were spent at Orient, Pinel, shopping in Phillipsburg (make sure to check out the Guavaberry rum factory-excellent colada samples buy some for the villa). and The Sunset bar and grill on Maho Beach next to airport. This was the coolest thing we seen in St.Martin.It is the lowest landing airport in the world. You can sit, have drinks and watch huge planes land right over your head on the beach.(look it up online) GREAT PHOTOS AND VIDEOS.Make sure to bring yours.Late afternoons we enjoyed the pool at our villa, and the very comfy lounge chairs on deck.We brought our i pod with and used the great stereo while cooking. It was a great atmosphere to blended up some pina coladas, poured some wine, sing, dance, play games (we brought) and enjoy the beauty of St .Martin. We rented a car through Empress car rental and were very happy with price and service.A good tip *I bought a large cooler bag that I use as a carry on-then empty upon arrival and use for the beach. We took it to orient each day with our own beer and booze and saved a pile of money .Most bars will fill your cooler with ice for about $2.00US. All in all this villa has all the makings of a great vacation.

Vacation Like No Other
4 couples stayed at this wonderful villa in January and it was absolutely a wonderful place to stay. Philippe and Veronique were gracious to a fault and we have stayed at Westins, Hiltons and this service far exceeded them. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone wanting a restful and peaceful vacation. Once we mastered a few words of French, namely at the grocery store, it was smooth sailing. One disappointment was the guys wanted to fish but as it was a little breezy no fish time for them, they had to wait on us as we shopped, swam, and drank. It was great! Extremely easy to get around in St Maarten, one road around the whole island and this villa is close to other beaches, pizza places and grocery stores. Go to St Maarten, you will be spoiled!

Villa Pinel
Our experience at Villa Pinel was perfect. The owner is extremely attentive to our needs in every way… from information about rental cars, directions to the villa, a phone when we landed to ensure we made it to the island safely, making dinner reservations and recommendations, where to get fresh fish, the best place to buy fresh vegetables, the best beaches, etc., etc, etc. It really made our stay more enjoyable. The villa itself was amazing. Right on the ocean and a short kayak ride to the most incredible Pinel Island and Yellow Beach. The villa has all the comforts of home except the snow and cold weather. It was a perfect holiday and one we hope to return soon!!

Wonderful 10th Anniversary Trip
My husband and I were looking for a special spot to celebrate our tenth anniversary and selected Villa Pinel. We were not disappointed. The view from the villa is just spectacular and the home itself is beautiful. We have travelled to St. Martin for 16 years together (sometimes several times a year) and this is the first trip we have ever cooked home. The kitchen was outfitted with top of the line dishes and glassware and the outside dining area offered one of the best views on the island – why go anywhere else – you cannot find a better table on the island!! Veronique and Philippe were gracious hosts and having them next door was an added bonus – always ready to assist and answer any questions you might have. Overall we found the villa to be peaceful, comfortably furnished with quality pieces and just the perfect spot to spend a quiet romantic week together. We found the location to be better than expected and were able to get to both Orient and Grand Case in 10 minutes – the Pinel ferry was only minutes away. Travelling to Marigot was also easy and fast. We would not hesitate to stay at the villa again……

Vacation Paradise…..
My family I and stayed at Villa Pinel in December of 2010 for 9 days. It was amazing. Top of the line everything. Veronique was the best host and upon arrival greeted us with a tour of the beautiful villa. I was traveling with every age group. From 9 years old, all the way to 66. The pool was great and the private beach was even better. We kayaked over to Pinel Island and it took only 15 minutes. I loved the open feel of the entire villa. The bedrooms were all king size beds and very spacious. I would recommend staying at the villa instead of a hotel. It is like staying in paradise. The supermarket is 5 minutes away and you can even rent DVD’s next door. One of my take aways from this trip is the delicious rum made right near the villa on the french side. MA DOUDOU …banana vanilla. The first night we went to a resturant and they served is an after dinner shot of the rum. I drank it on the rocks for the rest of the trip! Of course, I brought some home! On a side note, the pictures that are provided on the website are accurate but, you have to be there to see how much better it is in person! We had maid service everyday and clean beach towels. Thank you Veronique for everything and I look forward to seeing you again soon. Lisa

Unbelievable experience!
We were a group of 3 couples who rented Villa Pinel for 7 nights and just got home. Boy, do we miss paradise now that we’re facing snow! We rented Villa Pinel based on the photos and description provided on the website and we were not deceived. In fact, the villa was even more amazing in person! It’s a luxurious place with tasteful minimalistic decor, a Zen feel. The view was spectacular; with your own private beach. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe. The owners, Veronique and Philippe, was extremely kind and friendly. We mainly dealt with Veronique. When we arrived, she gave us the tour of the gorgeous home, then welcomed us with a basket of comforts that included jams, coffee, chocolate etc which was a nice touch. Veronique also provided the house with her spare cell phone for communicating with her and if we needed to make any local phone calls (i.e. ordering pizza). The rental includes daily maid service and fresh beach towels which was great because no one wants to do housework while they’re on vacation! Although, the house is fully equipped to do laundry. The kitchen is state of the art, the bedrooms are spacious and well-decorated, the pool is refreshing and well maintained, the security system/electric storm shutters are pretty cool too. There is an information booklet provided in the villa that answers pretty much any question you may have. Something worth mentioning about the villa is that it is very close to many attractions on the island. Pinel Island is literally a 10 minute kayak away (4 kayaks at the villa that you can use). This is a very neat spot. Also, you are a 5 minute drive from Orient beach which was one of my favorite beaches on the island (we went to 11 in total). Lastly, the town of Grand Case is a 10 minute drive and if you want unforgettable food, that’s the place to go! We would definitely recommend this place and would go back again. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions.
